AI Transparency Statement

We publish this statement so you always know where artificial intelligence does and does not play a part in Fitlas. It reflects the transparency principles of Article 50 of the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), which became applicable on 2 August 2026.

The short version

The Fitlas app contains no AI features. You are not interacting with an AI system when you use it, and your data is never used to train AI models. Some of our promotional images are AI-generated, and we label them as such.

Inside the app

• No AI system. Everything Fitlas shows you — your calorie and macro totals, streaks, progress charts, personal records, rest timers and workout summaries — is produced by ordinary, deterministic software: arithmetic and database queries written by hand. The same inputs always produce the same result.
• No chatbot or AI assistant. There is no conversational agent in Fitlas, so there is no situation in which you could mistake a machine for a person.
• No AI-generated content shown to you. Exercise names, descriptions and food data come from curated databases and the Open Food Facts open dataset, not from a generative model.
• No automated decisions about you. Fitlas does not profile you, score you, or make any decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Content moderation reports are reviewed by a human.
• No emotion recognition or biometric categorisation.

Your data and AI training

We do not use your workouts, meals, photos, messages or any other personal data to train, fine-tune or evaluate AI models — not our own, and not anyone else's. We do not sell or share your data with AI companies. This commitment sits alongside the guarantees in our Privacy Policy.

Where we do use AI

• Marketing visuals. Some background and atmospheric images used in our advertising and on our social media accounts are created with generative AI image tools. We never use AI to fabricate app screenshots, user testimonials, before-and-after photos, or results — every screenshot we publish is a real screenshot of the real app, and we do not create synthetic images of real people.
• Software development. Like most small development teams, we use AI coding assistants to help write and review parts of our code. All code is reviewed and tested by a human before it ships, and a human remains fully responsible for the product.

The written content on this website and on our store listing is written by a human.

If this changes

If we ever add a feature that uses AI — for example photo-based food recognition or automated coaching suggestions — we will say so clearly inside the app before you use it, describe it here, and update our Privacy Policy to explain what data the feature processes and on what legal basis. We will not quietly introduce AI into a feature you already rely on.

Not a medical device

Fitlas is a general wellness and fitness tracking app. It does not diagnose, prevent, monitor, predict or treat any disease or medical condition, and nothing in it should be taken as medical advice. Consult a qualified professional before making significant changes to your diet or training.
